Terminal Operations: Importation, Storage and Distribution of Liquid Fuels

The former company Barbados National Terminal Company Limited (BNTCL) started its operations at the old Mobil refinery at Needhams Point, St. Michael in 1998.

During 2005, the operations were moved to the current facility at Fairy Valley, Christ Church where unleaded gasoline (ULG), ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD), Jet A1 and crude oil produced by BNECL are all stored. The BNECL has a network of tanks and pipelines to fulfill its storage and distribution for liquid fuels. BNECL is also responsible for the quality of products imported on island for ULG, ULSD, Jet A 1 and Low Ash Fuel Oil (LAFO) along with ensuring there is adequate storage on island for ULG, ULSD and LAFO. BNTCL has successfully fulfilled its mandate for the last twenty-five years and now as BNECL we will continue to ensure the country has adequate supplies of product, which meets the nation’s specifications.
