About the Opportunity
Barbados National Energy Company Limited (BNECL) invites applications for the position of Procurement Assistant (Temporary). This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective and efficient sourcing of goods and services that support the operations of Barbados’ key energy institutions.
Primary Objective
The Procurement Assistant will provide administrative and operational support in all procurement-related activities. The role focuses on ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality, cost-effective supplies and services in line with the company’s established policies and procedures.
What you will do
Source and evaluate suppliers to secure high-quality goods and services within budgeted parameters.
Prepare, process, and distribute purchase orders.
Assist in drafting Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and procurement reports.
Support the preparation of customs documentation.
Maintain accurate purchasing and procurement records.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth procurement workflows.
What we are looking for
Associate Degree in Management, Business, or a related field. Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in an industrial, oil and gas, or similar environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
A minimum of CIPS Level III certification (an asset).
Familiarity with SAP or a similar ERP solution (an asset).
Knowledge of the Government of Barbados’ procurement regulations.
