BNECL is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join its team for the initial period of two years in the capacity of Procurement Officer.

Job Summary


The Procurement Officer will be responsible for the effective administration and execution of all procurement-related activities for the BNECL. The role focuses on sourcing and procuring high quality, cost-effective goods and services in a timely and compliant manner. The successful candidate will ensure value for money, adherence to procurement policies and regulations, and the continuous improvement of procurement processes to support organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Estimating and establishment of cost parameters and budgets for purchases
Maintenance of accurate records of purchases and pricing.
Development of requests for proposals and tender documents for goods, services and consultancies as compliant with the Company’s procurement rules and the Procurement Rules of the Government of Barbados
Play a critical role in the Procurement Committee of the Company as is guided by the Procurement Rules
Review and analysis of all vendors and price options.
Negotiation of optimum deals for high quality products and supplies.
Maintenance of good relationships with vendors and suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS


The successful candidate must have:

Bachelor of Science degree in Management, Finance and minimum of three (3) years experience in procurement/purchasing experience in an oil & gas or industrial environment or a related field
A knowledge of one or more of the following areas would be an asset: Accounting; Business Finance; Contracts; Purchasing; Industrial Management; Quantitative Methods or Organisation and Management
Familiarity with SAP enterprise resource planning software of a similar ERP solution
A minimum of level IV in CIPS certification
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent Financial Management skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
Team oriented
