Barbados National Energy Company Ltd has a vacancy for the position of Mechanic. The incumbent will be repairing, installing, adjusting and maintaining industrial machinery systems.
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
Diagnosing problems on compressors, rig equipment, vehicles and other mechanical devices
Repairing and maintaining all gas and diesel engines, rig equipment, vehicles and other mechanical devices
Repairing and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, systems and controls
Installing engines in pumping units
Servicing all mechanical equipment as scheduled
Ensuring that oil and water are adequate for the proper functioning of engine equipment
Repairing and servicing of all pumps
Preparing daily job sheets for the supervisor detailing work completed
The knowledge and skills required for this position includes but are not limited to:
City & Guilds certification in automobile and diesel engines mechanics and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines
or
A minimum of five CXC subjects including Mathematics and English and five (5) years’ experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
The ability to diagnose mechanical problems and find solutions
Light good vehicle license
