PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Barbados National Energy Company Ltd has a vacancy for the position of Assistant Workover Foreman. The incumbent will be assisting the Workover Department with implementing workover programs and the daily supervision of day-to-day operations of the workover rigs.
The skills required for this position include but are not limited to:
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem solving skills
- The ability to coordinate/ plan daily activities
- Excellent computer skills
- A knowledge of Kronos and SAP would be an asset
The successful candidates’ responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the supervision of the activities of the rig operators
- Ensuring that the wells meet the safety standards prior to the workovers
- Conducting Pre-Job Safety Meetings & Risk Assessments: Mandate leading daily toolbox talks, JSAs (Job Safety Analyses), and hazard identification for each operation phase.
- Approving the transfer and collection of required material from the warehouse
- Ensuring that equipment and materials required arrive on site in a timely manner
- Ensuring that all materials used in a Workover are accurately charged to the well
- Ensuring compliance with American Petroleum Institute(API) Standards and International Association
- of Drilling contractors IADC standards for well integrity and maintenance operations
- Ensuring that environmental, health, safety and security practices are followed
- Managing the clean-up of well locations after Workover activities
- Preparing standard form reports on daily Workover activity
The applicant should have at least one of the following:
- A Technicians Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and five (5) years’ experience on a Workover Rig inclusive of three (3) years as an Rig Operator or
- A minimum of five (5) CXC certificates inclusive of mathematics, a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience on a Workover Rig inclusive of three (3) years as an Rig Operator
- Specialised Training in Supervisory Management; Well control; Sand control
