The Barbados National Energy Company Limited (BNECL) has once again brought energy, music and generosity together at its highly anticipated annual Soca Jamboree, a private “jump” for staff and friends of the company.
This year’s event, held on July 25, 2025, was the third successful staging of the initiative, with participants dancing through the cane fields for a good cause. The proceeds raised were split between two charities: Trinity Animal Clinic, located within BNECL’s community and Jabez House, recognised for its outstanding work in rehabilitation and reform.
Marketing & Public Relations Officer, Samantha Hazlewood-Ermay, shared the heart behind the event: “What better way to give back to those who serve our community than by having a little fun while we’re at it! On July 25, our employees and their friends came out for our jump and had an absolute blast. This was our third year running and for the first time, participants got to choose the type of charity their efforts would support.”
BNECL’s Soca Jamboree continues to be more than just a celebration of culture and camaraderie; it is a way for employees to directly support causes that matter to them and strengthen ties with the wider community.
With the funds from this year’s event now making their way to the beneficiaries, BNECL reaffirms its commitment to uplifting local organisations and encouraging corporate social responsibility in action.
