For roughly four and a half hours yesterday, several parishes were without natural gas or had to operate with very low pressure due to a service disruption to one of the mains of the Barbados National Energy Company Limited (BNECL).
Marketing and public relations officer Samantha Hazelwood-Ermay said residents and businesses in St George, St Thomas, St James, St Peter, St Michael and Christ Church were affected after a third party operating in The Belle, St Michael, inadvertently struck one of their mains.
The disruption occurred around 1 p.m. and the BNECL acted swiftly to secure the line and install a clamp. Full service was resorted to all affected areas around 5:30 p.m. ( SG)
