The Barbados National Energy Company Limited (BNECL) is assuring residents, businesses, and visitors that there is no shortage of gasoline on the island.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company confirmed that gasoline stocks remain adequate across national storage facilities, and regular product shipments are continuing as scheduled.
BNECL reaffirmed its commitment to national energy security, noting that it has strong systems in place to manage procurement, storage, and distribution, even during peak periods or in the event of disruptions caused by weather.
The company outlined several measures used to safeguard the fuel supply, including: redundant storage capacity to ensure uninterrupted availability of gasoline and diesel; a rolling import schedule to match demand and maintain consistent supplies across the island; weather readiness protocols such as increased stock targets during hurricane season; and 24/7 monitoring of fuel levels and supply logistics.
BNECL also highlighted contingency arrangements with key national services such as healthcare, utilities, and public transportation, ensuring these sectors remain operational even during times of increased demand or emergency.
